Jeep Touring to Upper Mustang explores the beautiful places of Upper Mustang; which are Lo Manthang, Marpha, Jomsom Muktinath, Kagbeni and many more. Upper Mustang is full of ancient caves, historical monasteries and stupas, unique landscapes and spectacular mountain ranges. The Jeep Tours to Upper Mustang is a very efficient way to explore the region within a short period. The Upper Mustang Trek routes follow the riverbed of Kali Gandaki River with the views of mountain ranges; such as Mt. Annapurna Range, Mt. Machhapuchre (Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri and many more.
Mustang is of Tibetan origin not only because of the fact that it was once a special kingdom, but mostly because of its location and culture. Upper Mustang is north of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna (8091m) and nestled between huge 6000m peaks to the west and the Damodar Himal to the east. It was once part of Tibet and is still closely linked to the former motherland. Until 1992, Upper Mustang was forbidden to travelers because for many years it was the residence of Tibetan resistance fighters. Mustang is also the source of the Kali Gandaki River, which flows into India through the world's deepest gorge, and ancient trade routes lead to Muktinath, the famous pilgrimage site that Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims aspire to visit in their lifetime. We also visit the old royal city of Lo Manthang, surrounded by a medieval wall, with old monasteries and the old royal palace. The High Mustang is a wonderful gift with distinctive scenery, ancient vibrant Tibetan culture and extremely friendly people and other various diversities.
