The complex is home to several important temples and palaces, including the Patan Durbar (Palace) itself, which was built in the 17th century and was the seat of the Malla kings of Patan. The palace is now a museum and is open to the public. Other notable buildings in the complex include the Krishna Temple, which was built in the 16th century and is one of the finest examples of Newari architecture in Nepal.
