The Kathmandu Embassy Hotel is a new five-story, nineteen bedroomed hotels situated in Lazimpat, a leafy suburb approximately 15 minutes walk north of Thamel and not far away from several foreign Embassies. It is owned and run by Nirmal Nakarmi; Nirmal is a local man from Chhetrapati who has worked in the Nepal Tourist Industry for nearly a quarter of a century.
The Kathmandu Embassy Hotel is situated in an ideal position for both tourists and business travellers; Lazimpat is a comparatively quiet area less than 1 km from the former Royal Palace, now the Narayanhiti Palace Museum. Thamel (The main tourist hub of Kathmandu) and about 15 minutes to the south by walking. Durbar Square, the old Centre of Kathmandu is another 10 minutes walking south of Thamel. 4 km to the south west of us (Around 40 minutes walking) is Swayambhunath (The Monkey Temple) and 5 km to the east (Around 50 minutes walking) is Boudha (Boudhanath) Stupa. 3.5 km to the south east (Around 40 minutes walking) is Pashupatinath Temple, so as you can now see, an excellent location to stay in Kathmandu as you are literally surrounded by all the main visitor attractions.
