Aarya in Buddhism implies something which is respectable, significant or strange. "Khasti", in Nepal Bhasa, is the name given to the Boudhanath Stupa. Khasti or the dewdrop stupa originates from converging of one more two Nepal Bhasa words "khasu" which means haze and "ti" which means fluid. As per a legend, the Boudhanath Stupa was built by the fluid assembled from the morning fogs(dew drops). Thus the word khasti appeared and the stupa was named after it. Amid the rule of then King Dharmadeva, the kingdom used to confront genuine dry spell cataclysms which would last up to 12 years. The ruler fabricated a lake with stone water gushes close to the present Royal Palace. But the water did not leave the water gushes. It stressed the King. He counselled his celestial prophets for the arrangement, they disclosed to him that a penance to the divine beings would be expected to make it end. A sacrifice of any man, yet the most ethical man in the whole kingdom who is skilled with all the 32 characteristics. In the wake of giving it a cautious idea, the King arrived at a resolution that it was just himself and his child, Mandeva, who have met all requirements to be the most ethical men in the Kingdom. The King concluded that he needed to forfeit himself. He at that point requested his child to behead the head of anybody discovered lying close to the castle around evening time. Enveloping himself with a cover, the King proceeded to set down close to the royal residence soon thereafter. Following his dad's requests, the child Mandeva saw somebody resting close to the royal residence and beheaded him with a stroke of his sword. Little did the Prince realize that it was his own dad inside the cover. He was sickened to see his dad's head flying subsequent to being disengaged from the body. The head arrived in the sanctuary of Vajra Yogini in Sankhu.
