You take the Arniko Highway out of Kathmandu; past Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel, going East to the lowest point at 680 m at the Dolalghat Bridge. Then you drive along the Sun Koshi river northwards till you turn East at Khadi chour. There is a bridge over the Sun Koshi River. Then you will be on the Swiss built Lamosangu Jiri road. It first winds up to 2660 m in just over 30 km and then descends to Charikot which lies at 1970m halfway to Jiri. You turn sharp to the right at the police post (Satdobato, Charikot bazaar) and follow the road till the end where the parking lot for Charikot Panorama Resort awaits your vehicle below a Buddhist worshipping place (Gompa or Ghyang). You will have to walk the last 150 m. This scenic drive over 135 km takes 5-6 hours and the road situation is not very comfortable.
The alternative way is about 7 hour drive via Manthaali, longer, but the road is less bumpy, please contact the hotel for directions.
