About Koshi Tappu
Koshi Tappu is the Wildlife Reserve which is a Protected area in eastern Nepal. It covers the area of 175 kilometer square in Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur district. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve touches to Mahendra Highway. This Wildlife Reserve was established in 1976 AD. It covers 60% of grasslands 6% and 6% of the forest. A wide range of animals inhabited and protected here. In this wildlife Reserve, it is a record of finding 200 species of fish, 2 toad species, 9 frog species, 6 lizard species 5 snake species and 11 turtle species. Visit this wet wonderland in Nepal for bird watching expeditions. It rests along the floodplains of Sapta Koshi river in the Terai belt of Saptari and Sunsari districts of eastern Nepal. It is believed to be one of the best wildlife-rich wetlands of Asia. Two hours drive from Biratnagar is all it takes to discover a hidden wetland in Asia.
