Balthali is a village situated at the junction of Koshi River and Ladhku River Kavrepalanchok (Kavre) District. It is about 40km from Kathmandu Valley. Bathali take you through Kathmandu valley and are ideal for families or those wanting a soft multi-day hike. You start and end in Kathmandu, meandering past Buddhist temples and rural hamlets including the lovely Bathali village, which sits on a plateau amid terraced rice fields and dusty red colored thatched farmhouses. In between, glimpses of the snowy Himalayan peaks and swathes of bright-green forest greet you. Overall, this is a relaxing area to trek and remains relatively un-crowded compared to more popular routes in Nepal. Day One: Early morning at 8am, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken on a short drive to Panauti (Approx. 40 KM from Kathmandu). From there you will walk for 30 to 45 min to reach the Balthali Village Resort. During the walk, you will get a chance to see one of the oldest hydroelectric projects of Nepal. Continue on to pass through a village with holy men and terraced fields. Upon reaching the Balthali Village Resort, welcome drinks will be served with light snacks. In the evening you will enjoy a campfire with snacks and local wine made by the villagers. After that you will have a traditional Nepali dinner (Dhindo (Local meal) or rice) with local chicken from the village. Overnight at resort.
Day Two: Get up early for a morning view of the sunrise. Have breakfast at the resort garden then hike towards a joint river where you will see a water mill and Ladkeshwor Temple situated inside the cave. Continue on to explore the Nepane Village a traditional Tamang Village. After exploring the lifestyle of Tamang community, move down to Ladku River and then back to the resort. Enjoy lunch at the resort then head towards Khopasi where you will pass by a suspension bridge. In the afternoon return to Kathmandu.
